At last we are able to open the portrait and figure drawing studio at the New Gallery. COVID changed things for all Art Galleries. However, for us possibly the greatest loss was contact with our customers. Before covid we didn’t even need a website as our thirty five years opening three days a week had ensured we had some very loyal visitors, many of whom had become friends. Our Gallery might have been unique in being able to offer customers not only an opportunity to meet the Artists and visit the studio, but also to be in a painting. This can be a rewarding experience for both Artist and customer. Willing sitters are under no obligation to purchase anything and those who had not exactly planned to start a modelling career head straight off to buy a suitable outfit. Either way it’s a win?
